Artisanal Ceramic Art:

From Functional To Sculptural

  • Individually Unique

  • Creatively Designed

  • Skillfully Crafted

Welcome to Ruby Mountain Mud Ceramic Art, the studio of ceramic artist Christopher Noren in Elko, Nevada. Christopher creates functional pottery that combines artistry and utility.  Each piece is hand glazed for a distinctively personalized touch. His work, from tumblers to platters, brings beauty and practicality to your table. In addition to pottery, Christopher explores ceramic sculpture, utilizing texture to explore form and design elements in his work. Every creation reflects his passion for clay and craftsmanship, made with care and attention to detail.

Ruby Mountain Mud’s Goal

It is Christopher’s hope that with each purchase, the buyer finds pleasure in using each piece.  Whether it be a mug or tumbler to enjoy a beverage of his/her choice. A bowl to savor their favorite ice cream or soup, or a platter to serve food at the family meal.  Beyond the utilitarian uses of each piece, there is an artistic merit to each that makes the work stand alone as a visual enhancement to any room in the house.

Ruby Mountain Mud FAQs

  • Look in the gallery and if there is a piece(s) that you like, use the contact page and let me know. I will check my inventory and see if it is available. If not, I will show you what I have in that design and if one of those don’t work for you, you can special order.

  • Yes! All of my functional pottery is made from high-fired stoneware and food safe glazes.

  • Because the metal content varies in glazes, I don’t recommend using my pottery in the microwave.
